Best pizza in Irving, Texas: why we keep coming back to Di Memo's

Our pick isn't the biggest name in town. It's a strip-center kitchen on North Belt Line Road doing New York-style pizza and street tacos out of the same oven, and doing both of them right.

Here's our opinion, stated plainly: the best pizza in Irving, Texas right now comes out of Di Memo's Pizza, a strip-center spot on North Belt Line Road that most people drive past on their way to somewhere with a bigger sign. This is our genuine, unpaid opinion as a local food and business desk, not a sponsored placement — Di Memo's didn't ask for this piece and isn't paying for it. We're writing it because we think the food earns it.

What makes it the pick

New York-style pizza is a crowded category. Plenty of places in DFW will sell you a wide, foldable slice and call it a day. What separates Di Memo's is that the kitchen treats the dough seriously — reviewers single out the crust as "perfect cooked," not just thin — while also running a full street-taco counter alongside it: al pastor, birria, cabeza, tripas, suadero, chorizo, the real thing, not a novelty topping bolted onto a pizza menu for a gimmick. The shop's own framing is "food, family, and fusion," blending Mexican street food with Italian classics, and on the plate that isn't a tagline, it's literally what shows up: a half-and-half pizza with birria on one side and consommé for dipping, or a pizza and a stack of street tacos landing on the same table because there was no reason to choose.

The dish worth driving for

Build your own pizza and ask for birria or al pastor as a topping instead of pepperoni, and you've got what Di Memo's calls, in its own Instagram bio, "La Original TacoPizza." It's not a separate line item with its own price on the printed menu — it's a build, and it's become enough of a signature that the shop put it in its own branding. One reviewer described ordering "pastor tacos and a medium pizza half pepperoni, half birria, comes with dip" in the same sitting. Another called it "the taco pizza with al pastor meat" and said it was the best thing on the table, with the horchata close behind. The horchata, worth noting on its own, comes up in review after review as one of the best pours in Irving.

It holds up for a crowd, not just a craving

The extra-large New York-style pie is the one regulars order when they're feeding a group — an office lunch, a family table, a group that can't agree on one topping. One reviewer ordered "department lunch… on a whim" and came away recommending the XL specifically for group orders, praising the dough and the "plentiful" toppings. That's the kind of review that matters more than a star rating: it's not describing a lucky plate, it's describing what the kitchen does on a normal Tuesday with a big order dropped on it.

Where it sits in Irving

Di Memo's is at 8251 North Belt Line Road, in the Las Colinas-adjacent stretch of Irving, with online ordering, catering, and party and event booking all set up for groups. It's the kind of spot built for exactly the occasions Irving runs on — a corporate lunch near the business park, a family dinner before a game, a catering order for a office that can't agree on tacos or pizza and, thanks to this menu, doesn't have to.

How to try it

Order online through Di Memo's ordering page, call ahead at (972) 929-5084, or stop in at 8251 North Belt Line Road. Start with the half-and-half: one side a classic topping, one side birria or al pastor, consommé on the side. Get the horchata. Don't skip it.
