Privacy policy

This policy explains what information The Company Chronicle ("we") collects on thecompanychronicle.com and how we use it. We try to collect as little as possible.
What we collect
- Newsletter signups: your email address, which form you used, the time, and your IP address (to prevent abuse).
- Feature Package applications: the details you enter on the Get featured form, such as your name, role, contact details and business details, plus the time and your IP address.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Forms use a short-lived session cookie to protect against forged submissions.
We do not run advertising trackers, ad pixels or third-party analytics. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we are not paid per application by any partner.
Cookies and browser storage, in full
- One session cookie, named
tccsid, set only on pages with a form and only to stop those forms being submitted from somewhere else. It expires when you close your browser. This is a security cookie, not a tracking one. - Two preference values kept in your browser's local storage: which market you last chose on the odds board, and your economic calendar filters. They never leave your device and we cannot read them.
- Readership counting is done on our own server without a cookie. We count how many times a page was read and where the visit came from. We do not build a profile of you and we could not identify you from it.
- Partner link clicks are counted, so we know whether a page is useful. We record which page and which kind of link, never who clicked it.
Third parties whose content appears on our pages
- TradingView supplies the charts, heatmaps and market widgets. Those load from TradingView's servers and TradingView may set its own cookies when they do. That is the only third party on this site that does.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces and receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Public market and sports data providers are called to fetch prices, odds and scores. Where those are requested by your browser rather than our server, the provider sees your IP address in the normal way any website you visit does.
If you would rather not load TradingView's widgets, the pages that use them are the market boards, charts, heatmaps and sentiment pages. Everything else on the site works without them.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter you asked for. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link.
- To review, report and prepare stories, and to contact you about them. We publish a story only after you approve the final draft, and we do not publish your email address or phone number.
- To answer sponsorship inquiries.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam.
Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal information, except with service providers with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting and email), or when the law requires it.
Retention and your choices
We keep newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe, and submissions and inquiries for as long as needed to handle them and keep a record of what was approved for publication. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time through the Get featured form.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
