For a lot of small businesses, the hardest part of getting funded isn't qualifying. It's the waiting: weeks of paperwork for a bank loan when payroll, inventory or a new contract can't wait. Merchant Fund Express is built for that gap. It funds businesses based largely on their cash flow, with an online application and a human underwriter reviewing each file.

What Merchant Fund Express offers

The company lists six funding products, so a business can match the money to the need:

  • Working capital: a lump sum repaid in fixed daily or weekly payments, for needs like seasonal cash flow, payroll and inventory.
  • Business line of credit: a revolving limit you draw from as needed, paying only on what you use.
  • Equipment financing: for new or used equipment, with terms of up to 60 months and the equipment as collateral.
  • Invoice factoring: turning unpaid invoices into cash now, without adding debt to the books.
  • Merchant cash advance: funding repaid as a share of card sales, so payments move with daily revenue.
  • Revenue-based financing: capital based on revenue, repaid with fixed daily or weekly payments.

How the process works

According to the company, funding follows four steps:

  1. Apply online. A short application with basic business information.
  2. Share bank statements. Typically the last three months of business bank statements and an ID, uploaded securely.
  3. Get a decision. A real underwriter reviews the file and comes back with an approval or a counter-offer. The company says decisions usually take a few hours.
  4. Receive funds. After signing, funds are sent to the business's bank account.

Who it's for

Merchant Fund Express works with businesses across the United States, from independent shops and restaurants to contractors, trucking companies and franchise operators. Because approval leans on cash flow, it can be an option for owners whose credit scores wouldn't satisfy a traditional bank, while businesses with stronger profiles may qualify for lower-cost products like a line of credit.

Before you apply

As with any funding, compare the total cost, the size and frequency of payments, and whether there's a benefit to paying early. Our guides can help: how to qualify for a business loan, line of credit vs. merchant cash advance, and funding with bad credit.
