Bitcoin at $75,810, Ether at $2,234: crypto prices today, November 6, 2026

All eight coins we track are down 4% to 9% over 24 hours as the tech rout reached crypto. Bitcoin is sitting on its 50-week average, and Bitcoin and Ether ETFs lost $530 million on Thursday.

Coinbase Exchange prices at about 8:10 AM ET on November 6. The 24-hour change compares the latest trade with the price 24 hours earlier. The 7-day change compares it with the October 30 daily open (00:00 UTC), the first candle in the seven-day window.

What moved: the tech rout, not a crypto story

Crypto fell with stocks. Cointelegraph reported that the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite closed down 4.4% and 5.5% on Thursday and that the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index fell 12.2%, with analysts linking the selling to fears of tighter US regulation of artificial intelligence after the Democratic election gains. On Friday the selling spread to Asia: South Korea's KOSPI triggered a 20-minute trading halt after falling more than 8%, then closed 6% lower at 5,059.69, according to the same report. Our own accounts of the session are in the Wall Street close and the Asia report.

Bitcoin fell as far as 6.6% on Thursday to $75,109 on Bitstamp, per Cointelegraph, its lowest since September 16. It is now trading near its 50-week simple moving average at $75,733, a level traders watch as support. A break below it would be a technical signal, not a forecast. Our earlier story has the first leg of the drop.

ETFs and leverage

US spot Bitcoin and Ether ETFs lost about $530 million combined on Thursday: $430 million from Bitcoin funds and about $100 million from Ether funds, according to SoSoValue data cited by Cointelegraph. That wiped out the $128 million of combined inflows from Wednesday. Farside Investors data showed Fidelity's FBTC led the Bitcoin withdrawals with roughly $200 million, and BlackRock's IBIT lost another $105 million, its fifth straight session of outflows and more than $1 billion since October 30. Bitcoin ETFs are now down about $510 million for the year.

Leverage added to the fall. Cointelegraph, citing CoinGlass, said nearly $500 million of positions were liquidated in the first hour of US trading Thursday, with 24-hour liquidations near $850 million at that point. A CoinDesk headline put bullish liquidations at over $1 billion. We could not open the full CoinDesk article, so we do not quote its method or breakdown.

Greece sets a 10% crypto tax

Separately, Greece's parliament approved a 10% tax on crypto gains that takes effect on January 1, 2027, Cointelegraph reported. Investors whose annual net gains stay at or below 500 euros are exempt, and income from staking, crypto lending and providing liquidity to decentralized protocols faces a 15% tax. Swapping one crypto asset for another does not create a taxable gain under the rules as reported, and holders get 12 months to declare previously unreported gains. CoinDesk and Reuters also carried the story.

Where Bitcoin sits on the longer view

Our chart of Yahoo Finance daily prices shows Bitcoin 28.4% below its 12-month peak in that data, reached on November 10, 2025. Over seven days it is down 2.5% on Coinbase, a smaller drop than the past 24 hours suggest, because the market had bounced to about $80,000 before reversing.
