Didi Taihuttu on going all in on Bitcoin today: his 10-year case, worked on a $100,000 example

Watch: The Bitcoin Family's Didi Taihuttu answers critics who say early buyers "got lucky". His long-term reasoning, his growth-rate scenarios, and our arithmetic check. He says he is not a financial adviser.

The question Didi Taihuttu says viewers ask him most is: what if you went all in on Bitcoin today? Critics, he says, tell him he "got lucky" with his timing. In a recent video from The Bitcoin Family channel he builds a calculator on screen to argue that the case does not depend on luck. Watch the video on YouTube, and find more from the channel on our Bitcoin Family page.

The short-term setup

Before the calculator, he spends a few minutes on charts. He marks about $81,000 as a support line on the four-hour chart, with a bigger support area near $77,000 and the 50-day and 200-day moving averages on the daily chart near $72,000. His point is proportion: from the first line to the last is roughly a 10% dip, and Bitcoin has seen 7%, 14%, 33% and 40% dips in its history. These are the levels as he gave them in the video, not current prices.

The long-term case, in his words

The heart of the video is a thought experiment. Take $100,000, put it in Bitcoin at a price he gives as around $81,000, add nothing, and look ten years out. At that price, he notes, it buys about 1.22 bitcoin. He then sets four growth rates for the next decade and shows what a simple buy-and-hold would be worth:

His scenarioAssumed growth a year$100,000 after 10 years (our arithmetic)
Trend breaks5%about $163,000
Cautious21%about $672,000
Middle27%about $1.09 million
Optimistic36%about $2.16 million

We worked the compounding ourselves (100,000 multiplied by 1.05, 1.21, 1.27 or 1.36 ten times). Those figures line up with the rounded amounts he reads out, for example about $160,000 and about $1 million. Two things matter for readers. First, the 21% to 36% rates come from his reading of Bitcoin\'s past; he calls them scenarios and the future may not match them. Second, the row that matters most is the first: even at 5% a year, he says, you are still ahead of where you started, and he presents it as the worst case. Bitcoin has had long periods of falling prices, so real outcomes could be worse than any row here.

Why he prefers Bitcoin to the alternatives

Taihuttu argues Bitcoin has outperformed real estate and gold and is easier to carry across borders: you cannot easily take "bricks of gold" on a plane or move a house on your back, he says. He describes cash as a bet that gets taxed and inflated away, and says he keeps stacking small amounts each day instead of trying to time the market. He also describes a mix of holding, trading around cycle tops and bottoms, and fees and living costs built into a model he plans to share with his community. He has not published that model, and we have not tested its results, so we leave the outcomes out.

Worth knowing

The video\'s mindset message is that people who fear looking foolish stay stuck. It is a motivational point, not a financial one. Any plan that puts all savings into one volatile asset carries the risk of large drawdowns, and a ten-year result is only known at the end. Taihuttu says up front that he is not a financial adviser and that everything is his personal opinion, and we present it the same way.
