RHEA Finance (RHEA) is up 234% in a week as the NEAR ecosystem rallies, but no verified cause
The NEAR-based DeFi token has risen about sixfold in a month and is up 176% on the year, yet it is still 23% below its 2025 high. Less than half its supply is circulating, and we could not confirm a specific trigger.
RHEA, the token of the RHEA Finance DeFi platform on the NEAR blockchain, is up 234% over the past seven days, according to CoinGecko. As of Saturday morning that makes it the biggest weekly gainer in our movers scan of the top 1,000 cryptocurrencies that we have not already covered and that has current data. It traded around $0.087 at about 7:38 AM ET.
Unlike the overnight spikes we covered earlier this week, this one built up over about ten days. CoinGecko's daily prices show RHEA near $0.014 from September 13 to September 16. It was about $0.019 on September 18, $0.034 on September 21, $0.057 on September 22 and $0.076 on September 25.

This table is less lopsided than most on our movers list, and that is the point of printing all of it. RHEA is up on the year, not just the week, and it is within a quarter of its record. But CoinGecko records its all-time low of $0.00868 on April 19, 2026, five months ago. The token is now about ten times that low. It fell more than 90% from its 2025 peak before this rebound, and a price that moved that far both ways in a year can do it again.
Churn is low, and so is liquidity
RHEA's market value is about $35.5 million, and tracked venues traded about $4.1 million in the past 24 hours. That is a churn ratio of about 0.11. Several coins we covered this week were above 1.0. This rise does not look like the same tokens changing hands over and over.
That does not mean the market is deep. $4 million a day is a thin market, and most of it is on decentralized exchanges. CoinGecko attributes the largest share to PancakeSwap on BNB Chain (about $1.7 million), then RHEA Finance's own exchange (about $1.0 million), then Raydium on Solana (about $0.6 million). Gate, the biggest centralized venue in the list, handled about $0.4 million.
The supply the market cap leaves out
CoinGecko lists about 409 million RHEA in circulation out of a maximum of 1 billion. At today's price, the fully diluted value is about $86.8 million, about two and a half times the market cap. More than half the supply is not yet trading. We did not find a verified unlock schedule to report.
What we can show: NEAR itself rallied
RHEA did not move alone. NEAR, the blockchain's own token, went from about $2.30 on September 13 to about $4.94 this morning on Coinbase, more than doubling.
DefiLlama puts total value locked across the NEAR chain at about $227 million on Saturday, up from $134 million on September 12. RHEA Finance's lending market roughly doubled over the same stretch, from $97 million to $194 million. Its liquid-staking product rose from $21 million to $42 million.
Two caveats keep that from being a clean explanation. First, TVL is counted in dollars. When the price of NEAR deposited in a protocol doubles, TVL rises even if no one deposits anything new. Second, RHEA's own exchange went the other way: its TVL fell from about $34 million to $29 million. The part of the platform that trades tokens did not grow while the token climbed.
What we could not find
We looked for a cause specific to RHEA and could not verify one. We checked the CoinDesk, Cointelegraph, Decrypt and The Block news feeds, searched those outlets plus Blockworks and near.org, and ran a general news search. None of those outlets reported a RHEA listing, upgrade, funding round or partnership in the past two weeks.
Several price-analysis sites link NEAR's rally to new trading products on the NEAR platform. We could not confirm those launches from NEAR's own announcements or from any of the crypto news outlets above, so we are not reporting them as the cause. As of this morning, the accurate description is this: a ten-day rise in a thinly traded DeFi token, alongside a doubling in the token of the blockchain it runs on, with no confirmed news of its own.
Live prices are on our crypto prices page, and the full list of this week's big movers is on /movers. The token tracker shows pool liquidity and buy-sell pressure for smaller tokens. This week we also covered moves in BENQI, Neon and Aurora.
