Trump discloses 1,156 trades for July, about four times what all House members have reported for the month

President Trump disclosed 1,156 securities purchases and sales made on his behalf in July, worth between roughly $79 million and $270 million in total, according to a CNBC analysis of his latest financial disclosure. The largest entries were sales on July 20 of between $5 million and $25 million each of Microsoft and Amazon. Quartz reported the same Microsoft and Amazon sales.

What the filing shows

CNBC calculated that purchases totaled at least $43.6 million and sales at least $35.6 million. Disclosure rules only require value ranges, so exact amounts are not public.

• July 20: sales of $5 million to $25 million each of Microsoft and Amazon, and $1 million to $5 million of Oracle. Purchases that day included $500,001 to $1 million of Nvidia and $1 million to $5 million each of Intuit, Marvell Technology, Salesforce and Church & Dwight.
• July 23: small buybacks of the same two names, $100,001 to $250,000 of Microsoft and $1,001 to $15,000 of Amazon.
• July 8: swaps between Treasury, bond and sector ETFs worth $1 million to $5 million each.
• Bonds: purchases of $1 million to $5 million each of two Miami-Dade County aviation revenue bonds, a St. Louis County school district bond and a Main Street Natural Gas bond.

CNBC also flagged a sale of $250,001 to $500,000 of Northrop Grumman on July 20, the day Trump signed an executive order tightening supply-chain rules for defense contractors. The filing does not show the time of the trade or who decided it. The White House told CNBC the portfolio "is independently managed by third-party financial institutions" and that neither the president nor his family can direct it.

Our data: one account versus the whole House

The Company Chronicle parses every stock trade report House members file with the Clerk of the House, and publishes them on our congressional trades tracker. As of Tuesday morning, House filings showed 292 transactions dated in July 2026, spread across 35 members. The busiest single filer, Rep. Gilbert Cisneros, reported 66.

So Trump's July, 1,156 transactions, is about four times the number of July trades the entire House has reported so far. The money is further apart still. The 292 House trades add up to between $7.7 million and $25.4 million by their disclosed ranges, while CNBC put Trump's month at $79 million to $270 million. At the top of its range, his July 20 Microsoft sale alone, up to $25 million, would be nearly as large as the House's entire reported July.

Two caveats. Our count covers the House only, not the Senate, and members can still file late reports for July, so the House figure could rise. Neither changes the scale of the gap.

Why traders pay attention

A filing like this is not a trading signal: it is two months old, the amounts are ranges, and the White House says outside managers made the decisions. What traders watch is overlap between trades and policy dates, which is why the Northrop sale drew notice. CNBC noted that his 2025 annual disclosure showed more than 21,000 trades across eight accounts, against 86 stock transactions in 2017, his first year in office. In June he disclosed 1,051 transactions.
