Didi's $81,000 bitcoin support line is the 50-day average. The 200-day sits at $72,400
The Bitcoin Family's Didi Taihuttu says a daily close below $81,200 could send bitcoin toward $72,000. We checked the averages behind his lines and two news claims he made.
In his latest video, Didi Taihuttu of The Bitcoin Family draws two lines on the daily bitcoin chart. A green line near $81,200 is support. A red line near $72,000 is where, he says, bitcoin could fall if a daily candle closes below the green one. He also says the two lines are the 50-day and 200-day moving averages. That part is checkable, and it holds up.
What the averages say
Using Binance.US daily closes through October 15 (the last full day), the 50-day simple average is about $81,289 and the 200-day is about $72,400. His lines sit within a few hundred dollars of both. The last full daily close was $82,242, about 1.2% above the 50-day. On October 15 the day's low touched $79,800 before buyers pushed it back, and the price was near $81,900 on the morning of October 16.
The distance between the lines is the other number he gives: about a 10% dip. From $81,200 to $72,400 is a drop of 10.8%. The intermediate level he mentions near $77,000 is 5.2% below $81,200. For scale, bitcoin's low over the last 30 days was about $76,000 and its high about $87,400, so a $77,000 retest would not be new territory.
These averages are descriptions of the past 50 and 200 days, not forecasts. Plenty of traders watch them, which is why they sometimes act as support, but bitcoin has also closed through them many times. He is clear that this is his opinion and that he buys dips with cash flow rather than predicting them. We state his view as his view.
Two news claims, checked
Bank of America's fine. Didi says the bank was fined $1.2 billion for money laundering. That is accurate. The U.S. Treasury announced on October 13 that its Financial Crimes Enforcement Network penalized the bank $1.2 billion over anti-money-laundering and sanctions failures, according to the report carried by Fox stations. Of that, $750 million goes to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which the report calls the largest fine that agency has imposed. It is the third-largest in Treasury history. The report says Treasury found more than $5 billion in suspicious activity went unreported.
Richard Heart. He says the HEX founder was arrested in Istanbul for fraud tied to hacks. The reports we found say something narrower. The Block and Protos cite Turkish media saying he was detained on an Interpol Red Notice issued at Finland's request in December 2024, over alleged aggravated tax fraud. We found no confirmation from Turkish or Finnish authorities, no conviction, and no mention of hacks in those reports. Treat both the arrest and the charge as unconfirmed.
What to take from it
The chart claim is the useful part: the 50-day average near $81,300 is the level bitcoin is sitting on, and the 200-day near $72,400 is the next widely watched one. How the next daily closes land will show whether it holds. His case that bitcoin can fall 10% without ending a bull market is a statement about history, and history includes drops much deeper than that in this same cycle, from about $124,800 in October 2025 to a low near $58,600 in June 2026.
