Bitcoin dipped, then recovered
Bitcoin's 24-hour range on Coinbase ran from $75,601 to $78,622, a spread of about 4%, wider than the roughly 2.3% range in yesterday's report. The low is below the $76,239 floor we flagged on Tuesday, so the level did not hold overnight, but the price was back above $78,000 by morning. CoinDesk's headline described a "V-shaped comeback" as election uncertainty faded. We could not open the full CoinDesk article, so we are citing only the headline and our own price data. Earlier, Cointelegraph reported that analysts at The Kobeissi Letter saw markets pricing in a more divided political landscape after the midterms, while Wolfe Research cautioned that polls could be overstating Democratic strength. That is analysts' interpretation of stocks, not proof of what moved bitcoin.
ETF outflows are slowing
US spot Bitcoin ETFs took out another $116 million on Tuesday, Cointelegraph reported, citing SoSoValue data. That brings net outflows since Friday to $1.16 billion, but the pace is easing: $643 million on Friday, $399 million on Monday and $116 million on Tuesday. The funds' net outflows for 2026 now stand at about $153 million. Bitwise's research head André Dragosch told Cointelegraph he reads this as "a short-term risk-off environment rather than a structural change in institutional sentiment." That is one asset manager's view, and it sells a competing product line, so weigh it accordingly. The same report put the Crypto Fear & Greed Index at 34, up from 26 on Monday and still in "Fear."
The Binance laundering continues
Following our earlier coverage of the $6.3 billion Binance hack (see Monday's report), Cointelegraph reported that wallets tied to the attackers now hold 182,443 SOL, about $16.9 million and 18.8% of the 970,522 SOL stolen, according to Arkham, meaning roughly 81% has been moved. Lookonchain described the route as SOL sold for USDC, bridged to Ethereum, bought into ETH and swapped for bitcoin through THORChain, which resumed swaps on Wednesday after a halt on Saturday. The same report says Binance told users on Tuesday that it had replenished 98% of affected tokens and would absorb the losses, and that the FBI attributed the attack to North Korea's TraderTraitor group, which North Korea's Kim Yo Jong dismissed as "absurd rhetoric." These are the exchange's and investigators' claims as relayed by Cointelegraph; we have not independently verified the wallet figures.
Rates backdrop
The 10-year Treasury yield closed Tuesday at 4.95%, up from 4.91% on Monday, and the 30-year at 5.32% from 5.28%, according to the Treasury's daily yield curve. Higher yields were no help to bitcoin on Tuesday. See the 10-year chart.
